Stevenson’s Screen – Small

This small Stevenson's screen holds a U-tube maximum/minimum thermometer or could hold an ordinary thermometer, a Mason's hygrometer, or a pair of ordinary thermometers - one wet bulb and one dry bulb - to make a hygrometer. See photo for ideas.
**Note there is no base in the screen this is to allow air to flow around the instruments**

Wooden Construction with weatherproof ply, stainless steel pins and painted to Meteorological office specifications, 2 coats inside, 3 coats outside with 5 coats on lid.

The hook gauge Model 1275 rests on top of the still well, Model No 1265, which provides a small area of water surface which is free from ripples. The gauge is supported by its three arms and has a micrometer head for very accurate adjustment.
